As my younger sister is a fantastic illustrator, I asked her to create a front cover and some illustrations for the book. In the end, I had eight dark fairy tales for my collection. I revived and improved three of my old stories and then created five brand new tales. I love writing short stories so it felt wrong to hide my old stories just because they didn’t win any competitions. However, towards the end of 2017, I decided to create a book of fairy tales. So, I moved onto my other projects, leaving my short stories in the oldest folders of my laptop, expecting never to look at them again… I’ve already ticked one thing off my New Year’s Resolutions: I published a book □ĭark & Darker Faerie Tales By Two SistersĪt the beginning of January, I self-published my short story collection: Dark & Darker Faerie Tales.įor the last few years, I have been writing fairy tale short stories for competitions and while I did get shortlisted in one magazine competition, I wasn’t really getting anywhere.
